Sheridan County High School Football – After playing on the road last week, all 3 Sheridan County high school football teams are home this week.
The Sheridan Broncs host Thunder Basin, beginning at 7pm.
We will have the game live for you on 14-10 KWYO and 106.9 FM plus our live video web stream at sheridanmedia.com.
The First Federal bank and trust pregame show will start the broadcast at 6:30.
Elsewhere, Tongue River is home against Newcastle and Big Horn is home against Torrington.
Both of those games are scheduled to kickoff at 6pm.
Volleyball: The Sheridan Lady Broncs will play at the Casper Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
On Friday they will play against Cheyenne Central, Worland and Kelly Walsh.
Saturday’s schedule will be dependent on Friday’s results.
Big Horn and Tongue River play each other tomorrow in Dayton.
After that Big Horn will play at the Casper Invitational.
On Friday, the Lady Rams will play Laramie, Campbell County and Riverton.
Saturday’s schedule is to be announced.
Tongue River will play Friday at home vs. Sundance.
Their game on Saturday vs. Lovell has been postponed until Monday.
Arvada-Clearmont will play 2 home games on Saturday vs. Rock River and Ten Sleep.
State Golf: This past weekend was the State Golf Tournament
The 4A meet was held in Rock Springs.
The Sheridan Lady Broncs brought home the state runner-up trophy and for the 2nd time in 3 years, Samantha Spielman is the 4A girls individual state champ.
After winning the state title as a sophomore she missed by 2 strokes in her junior year.
She says that was her reality check.
“It’s harder to win state than you think. Sophomore year I won, so I kind of didn’t really know what I was doing. Sophomore year it just kind of happened, so then next year it was harder, so then this year I was coming back and I worked pretty hard all summer.”
For the Sheridan boys golf team, they placed 6th at the state meet.
Brock Owings finished tied for 1st individually, but lost in a playoff.
Sheridan is scheduled to host next year’s state meet.
Tennis: State tennis starts tomorrow and runs through Saturday at Gillette.
Last weekend at the North Regional tournament in Powell, Sheridan brought home 3 regional championships, all of them in doubles play.
Cross Country: Sheridan will race Friday at Rapid City, South Dakota, while Tongue River and Big Horn will duel each other near the Brinton Museum.
Girls Swimming and Diving: Sheridan will swim Friday at Buffalo and then will host the Sheridan Invitational on Saturday against both Gillette teams, Natrona, Laramie, Cheyenne East and Jackson.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost their second straight game at home against the San Francisco Giants, losing last night 6-3.
C.J. Cron got all 3 RBI’s for the Rocks, including a solo home run.
Game 3 of the 4 game series is tonight.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40.
