The 2022 season started with 3 of the 4 Sheridan County teams playing at tournaments/invitationals, while the other started conference play.
Sheridan:
The Lady Broncs went 3-3 at the Riverton Invitational.
On Friday, Sheridan lost to 3A Powell 2-0 (21-15, 21-6) and to 4A Cody 2-0 (21-9, 21-11)
Then on Saturday, the Lady Broncs defeated 2A Kemmerer 2-1 (21-12, 15-21, 15-6), 4A Riverton 2-1 (15-21, 21-18, 15-12) and 2A Big Piney 2-0 (21-16, 21-8), but lost to 3A Pinedale 2-1 (15-21, 21-19, 13-15).
The next scheduled matches are on Friday and Saturday, September 2nd and 3rd at the Gillette Invitational.
Big Horn:
The defending 2A state champ Lady Rams went 5-1, winning the Douglas Invitational in the process.
On Friday, Big Horn went 2-1 in pool play, defeating 3A Moorcroft 2-0 (25-15, 25-4), lost to 3A Douglas 2-1 (25-21, 19-25, 15-13), and defeated 2A Wright in a non-conference game, 2-1 (25-19, 15-25, 25-11).
On Saturday, BH went 3-0 in bracket play by defeating 3A Newcastle 2-0 (25-18, 25-22), Alliance, Nebraska 2-0 (25-22, 25-19) and then defeated 3A Wheatland in the championship match 2-1 (25-18, 20-25, 15-13).
The next scheduled matches are on Friday and Saturday, September 2nd and 3rd at the Gillette Invitational.
Tongue River:
The Lady Eagles won the North Big Horn County Invitational in Cowley, going 4-0 with 1 tie in the process.
On Friday, TR dedeated Rocky Mountain JV 2-0 (25-12, 25-12), and 3A Lovell 2-0 (25-22, 25-16), then had to settle for a tie with 2A Greybull 1-1 (13-25, 25-22).
On Saturday, Tongue River defeated 1A Meeteetse in the semi-finals 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-24), and defeated 2A Rocky Mountain in the championship match 3-0 (25-10, 25-21, 25-18)
The next scheduled matches are on Friday and Saturday, September 2nd and 3rd at the Greybull Invitational.
Arvada-Clearmont:
The Lady Panthers started the 2022 season with a win in 1A Northeast Conference play vs. Midwest, 3-0 (25-14, 28-26, 25-16).
The next scheduled match for A-C is Thursday, September 1st at Upton and then Saturday, September 3rd vs. Rock River (at Midwest).
