Second Chance Cat Rescue offers more than just adoptions

Second Chance Cat Rescue serves not only the needs of the Sheridan area cats but the needs of cats who require special care.
The vision of SCSCR is simple; every cat in Sheridan County has a home, every dog and cat owner in Sheridan County has access to affordable spay and neuter services, and that every companion animal is treated with kindness and respect.
The organization depends upon donations and grants to remain in operation. Some of the cats they serve may never find a home due to the time and care required to keep them comfortable, according to Program Director Mckayla Ward.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, SCSCR Executive Director Misty Rios told listeners a little bit about the sanctuary program operated by the rescue.
Other programs include fostering and volunteering at the rescue.
The rescue will accept donations of food and toys, and have a special list through Amazon of items that are needed.
