In just its 3rd year of existence and for the 1st time ever, the Sheridan Girls Wrestling team will host a 1-day 8-team dual tournament this coming Saturday (December 21st).

The past 2 years, girls teams normally were competing at the Pat Weede dual tournament in Gillette, but this time, that tournament is going to be boys only.

Lady Bronc Head Coach Marcie Lane says, once that announcement was made, an open weekend was on the schedule, so Sheridan was able to put something together.

As for the competition coming in…

“We have a team coming in from Pennsylvania. They are a couple of years ahead of wresting for us, so it will be nice to see them, and then we have Newcastle coming, who we don’t see a lot. They’ve got 16 girls on their team, so we should have pretty full dual squads. Powell is coming over, so just more variety for sure.”

The teams that will be participating are Sheridan, both Gillette teams, both Casper teams, and as mentioned Newcastle and Powell.

The Pennsylvania team is from Camp Hill, which is just west of the capital city of Harrisburg.

Competition this Saturday starts at 10:30am.

Teams will be split up into 2 pools of 4 teams each.

The top 2 teams in each pool will then take on each other for 1st and 2nd place.

The 2nd place teams in each pool will compete for 3rd and 4th place, and so forth.
