News ReleaseStudent-athletes from the Sheridan College Men’s and Women’s Rodeo Teams traveled to Riverton, Wyoming over the weekend to participate in the second rodeo of the Central Rocky Mountain Region 2024-25 season.
Several rodeo team members had top placements and top times for the weekend at the Central Wyoming College Rodeo.
On the women’s team, breakaway roper Maci DeHann had the sixth fastest time of the weekend in the first round with 3.1 seconds.
With a combined time, she placed tenth in the average.
DeHann currently sits 18th in the region.
On the Men’s Team, saddle bronc rider Jake Schlattmann made a 71-point ride in the first round, earning a three-way tie for fifth/sixth/seventh place.
Schlattmann scored 68 points in the final round, which was a tie for third/fourth, and earned him a fourth place finish in the average.
Schlattman currently sits fifth in the region.
Aidan Ruby in the bull riding event had a 76-point ride in the second round.
This placed him fourth in the average for the weekend, as well as securing a fourth place standing in the region.
Coach Zane Garstad said, “Our team continues to improve with each rodeo. We compete in one of the most competitive regions in the country, and our students are working hard to compete at the highest level. We encourage our community to come out this weekend and support Sheridan College, our student-athletes, and the sport of rodeo.”
The Sheridan College Generals will host the Pat Hamilton Memorial Rodeo on Friday, Sept. 27 – Sunday, Sept. 29 at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds.
Performances begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings, with the final round on Sunday at 10 a.m.
Slack will run on Friday, starting at Noon and Saturday at 9 a.m.
