Wyoming High School Rodeo: The Wyoming High School Rodeo season concluded this past weekend at Rock Springs with the State Finals Rodeo.

Cowboys and cowgirls earn points based on where they finish at each rodeo throughout the fall and spring seasons and the top 4 in the standings in each event after this past weekend, qualify for the High School National Finals Rodeo, that will take place next month, also in Rock Springs.

A total of 9 cowboys and cowgirls will head to the HSNFR.

Abagail Olson of Sheridan is the state champ in Barrel Racing.

She also finished in a tie for 2nd in the pole bending.

Colson Myers of Buffalo is the state champ in Steer Wrestling.

Cam Johnson of Buffalo and his partner Cael Espenscheid of Big Piney are state champs in the team roping.

Kamry Davis of Buffalo qualified in the barrel racing, as did Bleu Butler in the breakaway roping.

Kolby Smith of Sheridan was 3rd in the Bull Riding.

Karly Peterson of Buffalo will be in Rock Springs next month in the Girls cutting.

Wyatt Holland of Clearmont will compete in the trap shooting and light rifle.

Finally Cooper Justis of Parkman made it in the Reined Cow Horse event.


College National Finals Rodeo: At the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wyatt Phelps of Sheridan College, took a no score on his first ride of bull riding back on Sunday.

His second run is scheduled for this morning, and his third run is tonight inside the Ford Wyoming Center.


Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers are back on the diamond today as they host Miles City, Montana in a double-header.

First pitch is scheduled for 5pm.

The Troopers also play tomorrow in a single game at home vs. Buffalo.

The team hasn’t played since their huge conference double-header sweep at home vs. Cheyenne and pitcher Frankie Maestri says those wins were big in terms of team confidence and something else.

Sheridan returns to conference play this Friday at Casper.

In between games tonight, the Troopers as well as Sheridan Media will honor Trevor Jackson.

Several members of his family will be in attendance.


Colorado Rockies Baseball: In Major League Baseball, the Colorado Rockies were shut out last night, at Minnesota 5-zip.

Game 2 of the 3-game series is today starting at 5:40pm.


NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Florida won Game 2 last night at home vs. Edmonton 4-1, and now lead the Best of 7 series 2-games to none.

Game 3 is scheduled for Thursday at Edmonton.
