The Wyoming High School Spring Sports Season State Championship Events start tomorrow, and Sheridan County teams are hoping to add to their schools’ trophy collection.

Sheridan HS Soccer: The Sheridan boys soccer team will get things started tomorrow at the 4A State Tournament at Rock Springs.

The Broncs take on the host team Tigers at 11am in the first round.

The way the high school soccer season works in Wyoming, 4A teams from the east and teams from the west don’t get many opportunities to play an opponent from the other side of the state.

Such is the case with Sheridan, but Broncs Head Coach Wade Kinsey says the team has done a little bit of looking ahead the past few weeks.

On the same side of the bracket with Sheridan, and playing at the same time, will be Jackson vs. Cheyenne East.

Buffalo will play in the 3A State Tournament at Green River.

The boys play tomorrow vs. GR at 4pm, while the girls play Lander at 2pm.

Sheridan County HS Track And Field: The Wyoming High School State Track and Field Meet starts tomorrow at Casper.

The schedule for the 1st day is light.

The 3200 meter run will be the first competition of the afternoon.

Other running events include the 1600 sprint medley relay, and the preliminary runs of the 100 and 110 meter hurdles races.

As for the field events, about a dozen of them will take place tomorrow, and then the competition picks up on Friday.

May Lawson Of Sheridan HS Signs NLI For Equestrian At Dartmouth College: A Sheridan High School horse rider who grew up in the west, will soon head to the east side of the US, to ride in the English style.

May Lawson has signed her National Letter Of Intent to join the equestrian team at Dartmouth College.

She started training for equestrian events about 4 years ago at Colts Unlimited, which is about 6-7 miles southwest of Sheridan.

Her skill alone was not enough to get on the team.

Dartmouth College is an Ivy League school located in Hanover, New Hampshire, thus Lawson first had to have the grades and the test scores, just to get accepted into the school.

She says she can’t imagine life without riding, and explains what equestrian entails.

Lawson adds she is considering a major in medical biology.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The winning streak for the Colorado Rockies is now at 6, after winning last night at San Diego 6-3.

Ryan McMahon and Ezequiel Tovar each hit solo home runs to aid the cause.

The Rocks will try to pull off their first road sweep of the season today starting at 2:10pm.

The team is off tomorrow and then on Friday, Colorado will start a 3-game series at San Francisco.

Denver Nuggets Basketball/NBA Playoffs: Last night the Denver Nuggets finally won a home game in their second round best of 7 series, as they beat Minnesota 112-97 and now lead the series 3-games-to-2 after trailing 2-0.

Game 6 is tomorrow at Minnesota.

If Game 7 is needed, it would be played on Sunday at Denver.

Also last night, New York beat Indiana easily 121-91, to take a 3-2 lead their series.

Colorado Avalanche Hockey/NHL Playoffs: The Colorado Avalanche have their backs against the wall.

The Avs trail in their second round best of 7 series vs. Dallas 3-1, and game 5 is tonight at Dallas starting at 6 o’clock.

Colorado has to win in order to force game 6 which would be played on Friday at Denver.

As for the playoff scores from last night, Boston survived an elimination game by winning at Carolina 2-1, but trail the series 3-2.

Edmonton topped Vancouver 3-2 to tie that series up at 2 wins each.

Denver Broncos/NFL 2024 Schedule To Be Released Today: The 2024 season schedule is scheduled to be unveiled today at 6pm.

Ever since the regular season ended last season, teams already knew which opponents they were going to play in the upcoming season and where, but they have not known when and in what order.

This season all AFC teams will play the 8 home 9 away schedule, while its the other way around for the NFC teams.

Aside from their regular divisional matchups twice against Kansas City, Las Vegas and the LA Chargers, the Denver Broncos will take on all the teams from the AFC North and the NFC South in the upcoming season.

Teams rotate around with other divisions each season, and this is the draw for the AFC West.

Denver will have home games vs. Pittsburgh and Cleveland, and in return the team will travel to Baltimore and Cincinnati.

Atlanta and Carolina will visit the Mile High City for a game, thus the Broncos will visit New Orleans and Tampa Bay.

As for the other 3 games on their schedule, since Denver was credited with finishing in 3rd place in the AFC West last season, the team will take on other 3rd place teams.

The Broncos will host Indianapolis and visit the New York Jets.

As for that 17th game that was added to the schedule a few years ago, this season Denver will make a trip to Seattle.
