RAMS / EAGLES FOOTBALL – Both the Big Horn Rams and Tongue River Eagles will start 2A East conference play this evening.

The Rams are coming off of a double-overtime loss at Lovell last week, and the problem was their defense, giving up more than 400 yards.

Head coach Kirk McLaughlin says normally a close loss like that is tough to get over, but it was a non-conference game and that makes it a little easier.

Now the Rams are focused on an Upton-Sundance team that opened a few eyes last week, when they beat Cokeville.

McLaughlin says the Patriots look different than they have in years past.

Tongue River will hit the road to take on Glenrock, last week the Eagles defense held Thermopolis to less than 5 yards of total offense in the first half and 80 yards for the game.

Head coach Steve Hanson says the Eagles held on to the ball for a long time, thus the defense didn’t have to do much work.

Offensively they worked on more of their bread and butter plays, but now that it is conference time, it’s time to open up the playbook.
