Troopers win State Tourney Opener / Jets open the “A” Tournament Wednesday / Rockies Beat the Nationals

STATE AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL – The Sheridan Troopers opened the “AA” American Legion state baseball tournament Monday in Jackson they beat Rock Springs 10-0 in five innings to advance into the winners bracket, we talked with Head coach Austin Cowen after the victory.

Next up today they face the Casper Oilers and Austin says they have a great rivalry going with Casper.

And he says the pitching rotation is all set up and Avon Barney will get the ball today against the Oilers.

The Sheridan Jets are the host team for the “A” state tournament which opens tomorrow, the Jets will play the late game at 7:00 against Powell.

FALL SPORTS – The 2023-24 school sports season is just a couple of weeks away from starting all class 4-A football teams open preseason camp August 7th with all other programs starting a week later.

All junior high and high school athletes must have sports physicals completed before they will be aloud to participate in any preseason workouts.
