Three UW Cowgirls Basketball Players Announce Future Plans/UW Football Coach Bohl Talks About Spring Football

Sheridan HS Sports – It may be spring break week for Sheridan schools, but the season continues on the soccer field and track.
The boys and girls soccer teams are back in action today vs. Campbell County beginning at 6pm.
The boys are on the road and the girls at home.
The track and field team as well as the teams from Big Horn and Arvada-Clearmont will compete at a meet tomorrow at Buffalo.
Field events are scheduled to begin at 10am and running events at 10:45.
UW Cowgirls Basketball – Earlier this week it was announced that University of Wyoming women’s basketball coach Gerald Mattinson retired and Heather Ezell will take his place.
Recently 3 Cowgirl players have announced their future intentions.
Seniors Tommi Olson and Quinn Weideman have announced they will return to the team next season.
The NCAA granted all athletes an extra year of eligibility as a result of the COVID pandemic, and those 2 Cowgirls are taking the NCAA up on their offer.
This past season Olson averaged 4.3 points per game while Weidemann contributed with 11
Junior McKinley Bradshaw of Lyman will not return next season.
She has announced that she will graduate this summer and then begin her 2-year LDS mission.
Bradshaw was the leading scorer for the Cowgirls, averaging 14.9 points per game.
UW Spring Football – Yesterday was spring practice #2 for the UW football team.
The Pokes are coming off of a 7-and-6 record from last year, winning the Potato Bowl in the process.
12 starters return from last year’s team…5 on offense, 5 on defense, along with their place kicker and punt.
Head Coach Craig Bohl says he likes what the players did during the off season to prepare for the spring.
The Cowboys will practice again tomorrow, and then Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday in each of the next 4 weeks.
Colorado Rockies Pre-Season Baseball – Yesterday the Colorado Rockies dropped their 4th straight pre-season game, losing at San Francisco by a score of 13-to-2.
The Rockies are back in action tonight at 7:40pm at home vs. Seattle, then Saturday at 2:05pm at Oakland, and Sunday 2:05pm at the Chicago White Sox.
Opening day for the 2022 regular season is 1 week from today.
Colorado will start with a 3-game homestand against the LA Dodgers.
