Mary Sene
Mary Sene passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020. She was a few days from her 91st birthday.
Mary was born on May 27, 1929, in Smoot, Wyoming, and was the second oldest of eleven children. She was raised in Star Valley, Wyoming, and worked the family ranch from a young age. She often talked about her first job as a sheepherder.
Mary went to the University of Wyoming where she met and married Vince Johnston. They had five children in six years and lived in Laurel, Montana, and Sheridan/Ranchester, Wyoming.
She later married Marlin Sene and together they spent 17 years in Arizona and another 17 years in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mary worked as a manager of restaurants and other businesses throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, and her daughter, Missy.
She is survived by her children; Daniel (Jill) Johnston, David Johnston, Laurie (Bruce) Sheeley, Kelly (Denton Alley) White. She is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She will always be remembered for her world-class quilts, her excellent cooking, her sharp wit, and her iron will.
