It is with a profoundly heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father, Keith Charles Gann, long-time resident of Sheridan, WY, on May 20, 2025. He passed away suddenly at his residence at the age of 58. A memorial service and burial with military honors will be held in Buffalo, WY, at a time to be announced later by the family. Memorial donations may be made in Keith’s name in lieu of flowers. Please consider supporting the ongoing and impactful work of organizations contributing to U.S. Veterans’ quality of life everywhere: Veterans’ Rock of Cheyenne, Disabled American Veterans, Hire Heroes USA, Wounded Warrior Project, K9s for Warriors, Give an Hour, Homes for Our Troops, or another charity of your choice. Keith will be deeply missed by his daughters, Natalie and Bailey, and 4-year-old grandson, Benjamin. Also mourning his untimely loss are surviving sisters, Robin, Wendy, and Rhonda. Missing his daily smile and joy will be his newfound family, including VA team members (Cassie, Jed, Cody, Kandy, Jessie, Stephanie, Chris, Dana, Morgan, Bailie, Melissa, Joe, Roy, Greg, Fred, Abigail, and Matthew; Amy and Sharon), friends and neighbors (Robert). Keith was born in the Quad Cities region of Illinois and later lived in several states spanning from Georgia and the Carolinas to Iowa and South Dakota. During his time in Georgia, Keith joined the Army at Fort Benning and quickly climbed the ranks to become a decorated Army Ranger, SPC Sniper, from 1995-1999. He was immensely proud to be a United States Army Veteran and found his home among other veterans in the beautiful city of Sheridan, Wyoming. His enthusiasm and proficiency for tactical detail is something he carried well-beyond his military service. Keith’s exceptional attention to detail and exercise of strength and discipline allowed him to overcome the most difficult of life’s circumstances. Despite any impairments and disabilities, he achieved what few in this life ever could by redefining and discovering his own purpose and peace. Keith lived his final years with kindness, compassion, and care, for himself and those around him. He brought joy to his friends and coworkers and found contentment in his life and community.

“I’m happy to say you always surprise me, and it is my joy to know you lived well in your final years. You’ve made us proud and brought more joy into people’s lives than we will ever know this side of eternity. We honor your hard work and commitment to yourself and to us, and now I pray you may enjoy lasting peace and the healing touch of Heaven. Job well done, Dad. I’ll see you again soon. Love always, Natalie” 🤍

“It’s never too late to make positive changes in your life, and every step towards that change is one worth celebrating. Keith took the steps he could to become a better version of himself despite any obstacles he faced. I am incredibly proud of the person he came to be, and I wish we had more time. Love always, Bailey” Online condolences may be made to www.sheridanfuneral.com. Arrangements are under the care of Sheridan Funeral Home.
