Gail Marie Betts of Dayton, Wyoming, joined our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 30, 2025, at the age of 71. Gail was born on May 28, 1953, in Big Timber, Montana, to George and Marie Crum; she was the fourth of six children. She married the love of her life, John Sidney Betts on August 31, 1970; they were married nearly 55 years and were blessed with six children.

Gail spent her early years on a family ranch near Melville in Sweet Grass County, MT, where she developed a true passion for country life. While her older brothers taught her to fish and help with chores, she loved to explore the ranch with her sisters and play on the banks of Sweet Grass Creek. Her father, George, taught her to ride his horse, Buck, and would one day surprise her with her very own saddle and horse. She named her new horse Brandy. With the quality of the saddle being exceptional, she cherished the many days she would spend roaming the countryside with Brandy and her dog, Arfie.

At the age of 10, Gail and her family moved to a Ranch at Sarpy Creek in Big Horn County, MT. It was there that she would meet her lifelong best friend, India, and her future husband, Sid. She continued her passion for country life, learning to work cattle, drive a tractor, rack hay, as well as working in the garden with her mother and being taught to sew her own school dresses. This is also where her amazing talent for cooking would take root.

Being forever a country girl at heart, Gail’s ability as a mother would prove to be her most cherished talent of all. Providing her children with unconditional love and unwavering support, she would always put their needs before her own. She had a way of making even the smallest of occasions feel magical and made each one of her children feel truly loved.

Gail is preceded in death by her son, Bradly Ray Betts. Parents George and Marie Crum. Siblings James Crum, Mary Lynn Crum, James Kemp, Allen Betts and Rick Betts.

Gail is survived by her loving husband Sid Betts. Children Mark (Tammy) Betts, Patrick Betts, Jason Betts, Julie (Paul) Molina and Andrew (Tia) Betts.
