Sheridan County High School Basketball Recap: January 7-8, 2022

Sheridan had to play 3 games in 2 days, instead of 3 in 3 thanks to bad weather and road conditions.

Big Horn, Tongue River and Arvada-Clearmont (boys) played their games at Moorcroft and/or at Sundance.

Sheridan Boys:

The Broncs were 3-0 on the weekend in Cheyenne, playing all 3 games in less than 24 hours.

On Friday, (January 7th), Sheridan defeated 3A Douglas 60-42.

Then on Saturday, the Broncs defeated both Rock Springs (50-30), and Natrona 58-31.

Sheridan’s record on the season is 6-0 and a busy travelling week lies ahead.

Tuesday (January 11th) is the rescheduled game at Cody starting at 5:30pm (varsity only).

Thursday is the rescheduled game at Buffalo at 7pm.

The game was originally scheduled to be at Sheridan, but because the Broncs are hosting a wrestling meet that night, the 2 teams swapped home dates vs. each other.

Friday’s game is at Natrona, starting at 7:30pm.

Sheridan Girls:

The Lady Broncs went 1-2 on the weekend in Cheyenne.

On Friday, Sheridan lost vs. 3A Douglas 66-60.

Then on Saturday, they lost to Rock Springs, 38-31, but recovered to beat Natrona 43-34

The Lady Broncs are 4-2 on the season.

The next scheduled games for the Sheridan are on Tuesday, January 11th at Cody (4pm tip-off time), Thursday at Buffalo (5:30pm tip-off time) and Friday at Natrona (6pm tip-off time).

Big Horn Boys:

The Rams went 1-2 on the weekend at the Powder River Conference Invitational at Sundance.

On Friday, BH lost vs. Thunder Basin JV 62-57, then won vs. 1A Arvada-Clearmont 74-16.

On Saturday, Big Horn lost vs. 1A Upton 62-41.

The Rams are 4-5 on the season.

The next scheduled games for BH is on Friday, January 14th at home vs. Shoshoni (5pm tip-off time), and Saturday home vs. Tongue River (3:30pm tip-off time).

Big Horn Girls:

The Lady Rams went 0-3 at the Powder River Conference Invitational at Sundance.

On Friday, BH lost vs. Thunder Basin JV 63-21, then lost a non-quadrant game vs. Sundance 44-19 (originally scheduled to play Arvada-Clearmont, but A-C didn’t make the trip.)

On Saturday, Big Horn lost vs. 1A Upton 55-28.

The Lady Rams are 1-8 on the season.

The next scheduled games for the Lady Rams is on Friday, January 14th at home vs. Shoshoni (3:30pm tip-off time), and Saturday home vs. Tongue River (2pm tip-off time).

Tongue River Boys:

The Eagles went 3-0 at the Powder River Conference Invitational at Moorcroft.

On Friday, TR defeated Campbell County Sophomores 70-62, and defeated 1A Kaycee 67-29.

On Saturday, Tongue River defeated 1A Upton 62-36.

The Eagles are 8-2 on the season.

The next scheduled games for TR is on Friday, January 14th at home vs. Wright (4:30pm tip-off time), and Saturday at Big Horn (3:30pm tip-off time).

Tongue River Girls:

The Lady Eagles went 1-2 at the Powder River Conference Invitational at Moorcroft.

On Friday, TR lost vs. Campbell County Sophomores 65-39, then lost vs. 1A Kaycee 35-29.

On Saturday, Tongue River won a non-quadrant game vs. Wright 34-27.

The Lady Eagles are 4-6 on the season.

The next scheduled games for TR is on Friday, January 14th at home vs. Wright (6pm tip-off time), and Saturday at Big Horn (2pm tip-off time).

Arvada-Clearmont Boys:

The Panthers went 0-3 at the Powder River Conference Invitational at both Sundance and Moorcroft.

On Friday A-C lost vs. 2A Big Horn 74-16, and lost vs. Sundance 54-15.

On Saturday Arvada-Clearmont…vs. 2A Moorcroft 50-36.

The Panthers are 0-6 on the season.

The next scheduled games for A-C are on Friday and Saturday January 14th and 15th at the Little 6 Invitational at Meeteetse (Schedule TBA).

Arvada-Clearmont Girls:

The Lady Panthers had to cancel their games at Sundance and at Moorcroft.

A-C’s record is 1-2 on the season.

The next scheduled games for Arvada-Clearmont are on Friday and Saturday January 14th and 15th at the Little 6 Invitational at Meeteetse (schedule TBA).
