Aaron PalmerJohnson County School Board member John Manzella has died.
District Superintendent Charles Auzqui, in a release sent out Monday, said, “it is with great sadness that I am sending this communication that Board Trustee John Manzella passed away over the weekend. Please keep John’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.”
According to the obituary posted on the Harness Funeral Home website, Manzella
has, over the years, worked in law enforcement in Buffalo in the Johnson County Sheriff’s office as a detention officer and later as a deputy.
He was also the Buffalo Police Department Resource Officer at Buffalo High School and worked in the D.A.R.E. Program.
After retiring from the police department, Manzella ran for the school board in 2018 and has served there since being elected.
