A public tutorial meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening will discuss the Clear Creek Watershed, septic systems and water wells, and water rights and appropriations, and answer questions from the public concerning the topics.

According to Johnson County Planner Jim Waller, the county commission has organized the meeting to address concerns from community members about growth in the city and county and how that may affect water

availability.

Presenters at the meeting will be Waller, discussing water wells and septic systems; Zach Byrum, Clear Creek Conservation District discussing the Clear Creek Watershed; and Amelia Rothleutner from the State Engineer’s Office discussing water appropriations and water rights.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 Wednesday, December 15 in the County Planning Office Conference Room located at 26 North DeSmet Ave.

The public is invited to attend.
