The battle against a fire that had been burning in the Bighorn National Forest for nearly 3 months, is just about over.
Thanks to the recent snowstorm, firefighting officials have declared that the Crater Ridge Fire is 100% contained.
The fire ended up burning about 7,682 acres of land, and is believed to have been caused by lighting.
Due to the terrain, firefighting crews had difficulty getting to some areas of the fire.
Just because the fire is contained, does not mean it’s out.
A 9-man crew will continue to monitor hot spots in the area, until it becomes inaccessible due to the snow.
