Fewer Wyomingites are filing unemployment claims according to a new study from Wallethub.
The study shows for the week of July 5, 2021, claims in the Cowboy state were down 75% vs. the same week in 2020.
That’s the 24th best decrease in the U.S., including Washington D.C.
Florida had the biggest decrease with a 95% drop, while Rhode Island came in last, thanks to a 34% increase in claims.
Wyoming’s unemployment claim numbers for the week of July 5th 2021, were also down a little more than 16% vs. the same week in 2019, and that’s before the COVID pandemic started.
That’s the 8th biggest decrease in the country.
Kentucky led the way with a 55% drop in claims from 2019 to 2021, while New Mexico saw an increase of nearly 625%.
