Council Approves Contract With Firefighters Union

The Sheridan City Council held their first regularly scheduled business meeting of May Monday night. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Council voted to approve the contract with the International Association of Firefighters Local Union 276 for the upcoming fiscal year that begins on July 1. Firefighters Union President Jerry Johnston addressed the Council prior to their approval of the one-year contract.

The Council also received an update from City Governmental Relations Specialist Bev Leichtnam on the recently completed Wyoming Legislative Session, in particular, a number of bills that affect local governments and municipalities. The Council, on second reading approved an ordinance that amends chapter four of City Code pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
