Women’s Health and Pediatric Nurse Manager Tandie Garland; Trauma Coordinator Erica Ridgeway; and Community Relations Coordinator Cecile Pattison placed “Pinwheels for Prevention” on the hospital’s front lawn this morning.  There is one pinwheel for each of the 319 babies born at SMH last year.

“Pinwheels for Prevention” is a national effort is to raise awareness about child abuse.

According to Tandie Garland, “Our pinwheels at SMH represent an uplifting symbol of childhood – bringing hope, health and happiness.  Our intent is to encourage the healthy development of children.”
