Buffalo Building Inspector Terry Asay, in his report to the city council at their recent meeting, said the building department issued 10 permits issued as of March 16th, five of which were for new homes.

During the previous meeting he said permits were down, but wanted to clarify that across the board, permit numbers were slightly down, but new home permits are up, with 23 new home permits issues so far this year, compared to 16 new home permits issued for the entire year in 2020.

City Attorney Ben Kirven also spoke to tabled Resolution No. 1443, to change the name of the street adjacent to Clear Creek on the north side downtown from Eagles Lane to North Side Creek Lane.

The change was applied for by a group represented at the meeting by Ray Breton, who owns Un’WINE’d.

Breton explained that the group was hoping to change the name of the street to “North Side Creek,” without the “Lane” designation.

The council said they would have to check with the city’s legal department in the matter.

Kirven said later in the meeting that he needs time to check city code to find if it requires a street or lane designation.
