Public Health Reports One Active COVID Case

Robin King, with Johnson County Public Health, gave the latest update on the status of COVID-1 in the county during Tuesday’s Emergency Operations Center briefing.
King said there is currently one lab-confirmed, active COVID case in the county.
She said the county has given 91% of vaccine doses that they have been sent so far, meaning they have almost reached 2,000 both first and second doses.
Trisha Thompson, Nursing Manager at Public Health, spoke about vaccine shipments.
Thompson said now those with underlying health issues are able to get vaccines,
Public Health will be working with the pharmacies to administer vaccines to that portion of the population.
Those in that group wanting the vaccine should contact either pharmacy to schedule appointments, while Public Health concentrates on teachers, daycare providers, and other essential workers.
