$250,000 is not a reasonable price for a young couple as first home buyers. One of the problems I see is the lower, more reasonably priced houses are bought up by realtors and other better off folks for rental property, leaving the higher priced houses or renting as the only option for first home buyers.

Exactly! Just like to people who bought up all the toilet paper at the beginning of the pandemic so they could take advantage of their neighbors. These people are buying up more property than they need so they can hoard it and enjoy a non-work lifestyle while the rest of us actually work for a living. These people are harming the community in a measurable way to satisfy their greed. It is time that we start calling it out for what it is.
