Sheriff’s Department Receives Donation from REACH
Helping the autistic and neuro-divergent members of the Sheridan community is the mission of Sheridan’s REACH, (Resources, Education, Autism, Community, Harmony).
As a part of this mission, on February 4, REACH donated sensory bags to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Department.
REACH Vice President Rhonda Rieker presented the bags to Sheriff Levi Dominguez and his deputies.
She explained what the sensory bags contained.
When she talked to the deputies, Sheriff Levi Dominguez asked Rieker to explain what REACH does in the community. She said that last year she and her husband were handing out flyers about the 5K Run,

Included in the bags were small cards that explained how to use the enclosed items. One item was a weighted lap pad,
Sheriff Levi Dominguez added this about the donation.

Each of the deputy’s cars with the Sheriff’s Department will have a sensory bag, along with instructions for the use of the contents to help autistic children to cope in the event of a crisis.
