Sheridan Man Arraigned for Felony Drug Possession

According to the affidavit of probable cause in the case against Curtis Malli, in August of 2025, a special agent with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation was conducting surveillance on a house in Sheridan that was known to be involved with the distribution of methamphetamine. The special agent observed Malli entering the residence and then leaving the residence.

The special agent contacted Sheridan Police Department as the agent knew Malli to be a methamphetamine user and that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Malli was pulled over by an office with the SPD for driving under suspension. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 61 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Malli was placed under arrest and booked into the Sheridan County Detention Center.

Malli, at a recent arraignment hearing in District Court, pleaded not guilty to one count of felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a two-day jury trial to begin June 1. A pretrial conference will take place April 30 at 11 am. Malli’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Sheridan County Circuit Court. If convicted, Malli faces up to seven years in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.
