District Court Judge Ben Kirven accepted the terms of the plea agreement reached between the defendant and the State, and sentenced Korey Kennedy to 4 to 7 years in prison for each of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance – providing THC to a minor. The sentences will run concurrent to one another and concurrent to a 180 day jail sentence Kennedy recently received in Sheridan County Circuit Court for the charge of domestic battery.

During the State’s arguments and recommendations, Sheridan County Attorney Dianna Bennett said that Kennedy is a twice convicted felon and that one of the felonies is a sex crime involving a minor and that he was not a candidate for probation. Kennedy received 189 days credit for time served of presentence confinement and was ordered by Judge Kirven to pay $515 in court costs and assessments. Following the sentencing, Kennedy was remanded to the custody of the Sheridan County Detention Center pending transfer to prison.
