Update to SCSD#3 Listening Session to Address Re-Calibration

All community members who are concerned about the re-calibration for school funding that is being discussed in the Wyoming Legislature, are urged to attend public forum to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, in the Clearmont School K-12 multi-purpose room from 6 to 8 pm.

The Wyoming Budget Legislative session will begin on Feb. 9. The Select Committee on School Finance re-calibration voted to advance a bill that would reshape the school funding model for public schools.

One concern expressed by Sheridan County Schools administrators is the fact that the funding model may decrease local control for schools. The bill also proposes increasing the student to teacher ratio in classes.

There will be a presentation of re-calibration information followed by a public forum.

All interested community members are encouraged to attend.

Also at the school on February 4 from 11:30 to noon will be Lunch with the Community. Those wanting to attend are asked to let the school know by Jan. 29 so enough food can be ordered. Cost is $5, paid in advance, no later orders will be accepted. Call the school at 307-758-4412.
