The University of Wyoming has announced the institution of higher learning celebrated its 11th annual Giving Day from noon Thursday, Oct. 23, to noon Friday, Oct. 24.

According to UW, during the 24-hour event, 9,271 donors contributed more than $4 million in support of UW colleges, programs, and student organizations.

This year’s theme, “Seize the Day,” and subtheme “Light the Way,” highlighted the power of every donor to make a difference for students and the university community.

The University reports the success of this year’s Giving Day was driven by the participation of students, faculty and staff from across the university and the support of community advocates. The 266 campaigns represented academic colleges and units, athletic programs, and student clubs and organizations.

Giving Day has grown since its start in 2015 into a statewide tradition that unites alumni, faculty, staff, and friends in support of education, research, and service at the Cowboy State’s four-year university.
