Rezone Request Considered on First Reading

A request to rezone property in south Sheridan was an item addressed at Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has more.

Following a public hearing on the matter, the Council approved first reading of an ordinance to rezone one acre of property at 1039 2nd Ave East from R-1 Residence District to B-1 Business District to allow for multi-family development on the property. City Engineer Thomas Morneau.

Adjacent properties are zoned M-1 Industrial to the north, R-1 Residence to the east, B-2 Business to the south, and B-1 Business to the west. Nearby land uses include single-family residential, multi-family residential, auto sales, restaurants, and a hotel. We’ll have more from the City Council meeting in future stories.
