Sneakers and Spurs Race Winners From Near and Far

The winners of Friday’s Sneakers and Spurs 5K race were from Sheridan, and another with ties to Sheridan.

In the Men’s Division, the top finisher was Alejandro Garcia, from Chapel, Nebraska, but is originally from Pine Bluffs. He said he has numerous ties to the Sheridan area.

Garcia finished with a time of sixteen minutes and fifty-two seconds.

The top female finisher was Jaelyn Ruybal, who will be a sophomore at Sheridan High School this fall.

She said she has run the race a number of times and the hard work has finally paid off.

Ruybal finished the race with a time of twenty-one minutes and thirty-eight seconds.
