Emergency Management seeking volunteers to assist with mass casualty exercise

A required mass casualty exercise will be taking place at the Sheridan County Airport on June 7, to evaluate emergency responders and law enforcement in the Sheridan Region.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Emergency Management Coordinator Jesse Ludikhuize and Sheridan County Airport Manager Robert Gill spoke on the extensive exercise designed over the course of nine months to evaluate emergency services.

Emergency responders and law enforcement from the City of Sheridan, Sheridan County, Sheridan Memorial Hospital, the VA and SC Airport will be evaluated on their response to a simulated crash of a CRJ200 passenger plane, the same make and model currently used for air service at the airport.
Gill has written the scenario that will guide the exercise that could potentially include 53 individuals or more suffering casualties of various degrees.

The exercise will be on Saturday June 7, at the Sheridan County Airport. To reach the amount of casualties required for the written scenario, Ludikhuize is in search of a few more volunteers.
