New UW North Hall will house students in fall semester

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, University of Wyoming Director of Institutional Communications Chad Baldwin gave an update on the largest construction project in the University’s history.
The first of two new residence halls is nearing completion. According to Baldwin, the first part of the project – the North Hall and the connected two-level dining facility – are on schedule to begin housing students as soon as the fall semester.

The $285.5 million project includes two five-story residence halls that will house a two-story dining hall and more than 900 student beds at the center of campus, allowing quick access for students to many of the University’s most utilized facilities.

The construction also includes a new parking facility. The Ivinson Parking Garage provides spaces for 375 vehicles, as well as the offices of the UW Police Department. The Ivinson Parking Garage opened in May of 2023.
Baldwin said the older residence halls will continue to house students until they are determined to be unsafe to do so, at which time the University will safely demolish them.
