Governor Gordon to Speak at Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony at The Hub on Smith

The Hub on Smith in Sheridan is hosting the Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Ceremony on Saturday, May 10, from 1:15 to 2:00 pm. The ceremony is part of a statewide initiative to thank and formally welcome home all Wyoming veterans, especially those who may not have been properly recognized upon returning from service.
The event will feature remarks from Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, Adjutant General of Wyoming, Major General Greg Porter, and Wyoming Veterans Commission Chairman, Command Sergeant Major Retired Ken Persson. The Wyoming Veterans Welcome Home Day was officially established during the 61st legislative session, designating March 30 as the annual day of recognition. This date commemorates the day U.S. combat troops would have first set foot on Wyoming soil after returning home from the Vietnam War in 1973.
All Wyoming veterans are invited to attend, with a special welcome extended to those who served in the Korean War, Vietnam War, and any others who may not have received the thanks they deserved at the time. Military personnel, surviving spouses, and family members are also encouraged to attend.
