cvannoyDuring their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 15, the SCSD#1 Board of Trustees heard a presentation from Principal Ryan Fuhrman of Tongue River Elementary School and what they are doing so far this year.
He said that TRE is “one big family” and he commended the teachers and staff at the school.
In her student representative report, Paxten Aksamit talked about what was going on at Tongue River High School.
Lindsey Walker, student representative from Big Horn High School, talked about reaching out to TRHS.
Superintendent Jeff Jones commented about the generosity of the Big Horn students.
Board Chairman Clint Krumm added that although Big Horn and Tongue River are very competitive, in sports and in other school activities, he was impressed to see the gesture.
In other business, several policies were approved on the first and second reading, and Business Manager Jeremy Smith said there were eight staff members who took time off to fight the fire, and he thanked the board and Jones for being flexible and allowing staff to volunteer to help fight the fire and protect the community. “We work for a special place, and we live in a special place. Kudos to you,” Smith said.
