On Wednesday morning House Majority Whip Cyrus Western (HD-51) and
Representative Barry Crago (HD-40) released statements
regarding the shooting of Sheridan Police Department Sergeant Nevada
Krinkee.

Representative Western said, “The loss of Sergeant Nevada Krinkee is devastating news. My deepest condolences go out to his family. Sergeant Krinkee was a dedicated and courageous servant and his sacrifice in the line of duty will forever be remembered by our community.”

“Today’s tragic event is a solemn reminder of the commitment our law
enforcement makes every day to keep our communities safe. We thank the
officers and first-responders who answered the call of duty, today and
every day, and we reiterate our commitment to honor and support them in
their mission to serve and protect.”

Representative Crago added, “We are shocked by the tragic shooting of Sergeant Nevada Krinkee. Our hearts go out to his family. We cannot imagine the grief they are experiencing, but the whole of our community and of our state stands with them.”

“Sergeant Krinkee’s passing is made even more pronounced by his
presence in our community—a loving husband, young father, dedicated
veteran of the Sheridan Police Department, and a beloved friend and
neighbor. It’s impossible to imagine a greater loss.”
