Clearmont Day Planning Meeting

Although June 22 is still some months away, the Clearmont Day planning committee is beginning work on planning the 2024 Clearmont day. Residents interested in helping with Clearmont Day or who have suggestions of what to include are invited to a meeting on Monday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Clearmont Library and Community Center.
Past events included a soapbox derby, 5K fun run, special music, street dance, all-town garage sale and free hamburger lunch and vendors in the park. In years past there has been a parade as well.
A Clearmont Day celebration has been held for over 100 years, although in 1919 it was held in the fall, and various events have, from time to time, caused the town to cancel the celebration.
From the Sheridan Post, Sept. 17, 1919

The spirit which prompted the enterprising business men of Clearmont to set aside a day this fall for the purpose of, folding a Community Fair, a real “Get Together” occasion, is one which cannot help but be admired by the people of Sheridan county. Especially is the undertaking to be appreciated for the reason that this has been one of the dryest years on record in Sheridan county, but the Clearmont section has been favored and it is stated that there will be an excellent display of grains and vegetables.
The Clearmont Commercial club is responsible for the event which is to be pulled off tomorrow. Thursday, Sept. 18, and many are planning on going there for the big occasion, which will include many sports and a day of unusual pleasure.
Clearmont is one of the prosperous farming communities of Sheridan county, located on the Burlington road about 27 miles southeast of Sheridan, and is also the junction point for the Wyoming Railroad Co., which operates a line from there to Buffalo, and has a very bright future. It is located on Clear creek, one of the pretty little streams of the southeastern part of the county.
Everyone interested in planning the 2024 Clearmont Day is urged to attend the meeting.
