SCLT Announces February Explore History Program

The Sheridan Community Land Trust has announced that this month’s Explore History program will be held on Tuesday, February 13, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., at The Hub on Smith in Sheridan. The program will be “The Iron Riders Ride Again: An Expanded Story of The Great Bicycle Experiment of 1896-97.”

Join Sheridan Community Land Trust Historical Program Manager, Kevin Knapp, who will share an expanded story of the Army’s Historic Black Bicycle Corps known as the Iron Riders on their 1,900-mile route. Kevin will present updated research into the Iron Riders as SCLT prepares to launch an educational driving/cycling tour on June 19, 2024, of their route through Sheridan County.

This Explore History program offers open conversation for community members to share their memories or historical information about these sites and events.

This program will not be repeated at Dayton this month.
