cvannoyThe Clear Creek Rec District (CCRD) in Clearmont held its monthly board meeting at 6:30 p.m., preceding the SCSD#3 Board of Trustees meeting. The CCRD is affiliated with Clearmont School, and the Rec District maintains the old brick school building owned by SCSD#3.
It sponsors such events as the Easter Egg Hunt, Youth Volleyball and Basketball, Trunk or Treat, a New Years Eve party and other events.
Items on the agenda included election of new officers, but it was decided to retain the officers from the previous year. Deb Guyer will accept Chris Schock’s vacated position.
President Stephanie Buhr and Director Amy Rowe reported on the New Year’s Eve Dance Party, which was attended by 56 area residents.
After a lengthy discussion, the board approved $150 for snack foods for the upcoming Valentine Dance. It will be held on Feb. 10 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Rowe also said the Rec District will accept donations, and that the donations at the New Year’s Eve Dance totaled $42. She added that the heater has been fixed in the Rec Center as well. She added that the heater situation was ‘the bane of their existence’ in the old building, but for now they are good.
Rowe also reported on how many times the Rec Center was used.
She also noted that Yoga is going well, as the pre-school and that several have signed up for Youth Basketball.
