cvannoyThe WYO Rodeo grounds and bleachers were filled to capacity at the Friday, July 14, 2023 evening performance of the WYO Rodeo. The events started with the always popular action of the World Champion Indian Relay Races. There was a lot of action and the crowd showed their appreciation for the winners.
Following the relay races was the bareback bronc riding. Displayed on a large screen television at one end of the area the Sheridan College Rodeo Team presented a brief account of each event before it began, telling the audience the history of the event, how it is scored, and some of the equipment used.
The bleachers were full, and since it was Patriot Night, and the audience was encouraged to wear red, there were many red shirts in evidence. Timed events, including a fairly new event, Women’s Breakaway roping, followed the rough stock.
The carnival was on the fairgrounds as well, and rides and vendors drew large crowds.
The last performance will be Saturday night.
