Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board Of Trustees Approve Fiscal Year 2024 Budget

The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board Of Trustees has approved the budget for the 2024 fiscal year.
Hospital President Mike McCafferty says he’s hopeful the new budget will give the hospital a 0.3% operating margin.
Although it may not sound like much, he adds it’s typical of most rural hospitals.
Recently the hospital purchased a Da Vinci robot to help with minimally invasive surgeries and is working on putting together a crisis stabilization unit, and is redesigning the front desk and check-in area.
McCafferty says those are a few of several projects planned within the main hospital building.
“Some of our growth around behavioral health. Primarily with construction that’s going to happen within the facility. It’s more renovation than new construction and so we’ll start that new process. We also are looking at some of our other areas within the operating room, the surgical services area, some of the renovations that we’re looking to do in that area as well. ”
McCafferty adds that for fiscal year ‘23 which recently ended, the hospital had about a 2.5% operating loss.
