Wyoming Department of Transportation Engineer Jacob Whisonant made an appearance on Sheridan Meida’s Public Pulse program to speak on the upcoming Main Street Resurfacing and Utility Project.

The project is scheduled to begin in early April. WYDOT will also upgrade sidewalk intersections to be in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act to correct existing deficiencies along with electronic upgrades to traffic signal poles and associated infrastructure such as signal cabinets, control boxes, pull boxes, and more.

The project has been divided into sections which will be completed independently, one after the other, preventing the whole of Main Street from having to be closed in hopes to lessen the impacts on Sheridan’s downtown businesses.

In conjunction, the City of Sheridan will replace the existing city water transmission, existing sanitary sewer main, complete any needed repairs to the existing storm sewer system, and placement or upgrade of various enhancements within the sections undergoing resurfacing.

To learn more, a meeting on the Main Street Resurfacing and Utility Project will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, at the Hub on Smith in the cafeteria.
