Kinskey on Mental Health Legislation

State Senator Dave Kinskey (R-Sheridan, Johnson Counties), in his weekly talk from the legislative session, discussed mental health issues, legislation, and funding.

Kinskey said the House has proposed reinstating funds that have been cut from various mental health programs.

Kinskey said he can see both sides of the argument, however, his perspective on the funding is that he was in the legislature during those hard times and had to cut funding for those programs, and he doesn’t want to see state government get into that kind of trouble again.

He said the legislature had the debate on the issue, which he didn’t win, so you move on.
