State Senator Dave Kinskey (R-Sheridan, Johnson Counties), in his weekly talk on the legislative session last week, was asked about a bill in the Senate which would prohibit students of the male sex from competing on a team designated for students of the female sex.

Kinskey explained SF133, the Student eligibility in interscholastic sports legislation, which was sponsored by Senator Wendy Schuler (R-Uinta County).

Kinskey talked about the reasoning for bringing the bill before the legislature.

Kinskey said that when people stand up for girls and fair competition, they in many instances become tagged as bigots, but that could not be further from the truth in this instance.

He said SF133 has passed the Senate and has now moved to the House for consideration.
