Three pets are dead and a homeowner is displaced as a result of a fire on Sheridan’s south side.
Sheridan Fire-Rescue says just before 3pm on Wednesday (November 16th), a call came in about the fire located at 127 East Nebraska Street.
When crews arrived on scene, they found a small single story wood frame residence with moderate smoke coming from the front door.
The fire was brought under control in about half an hour, and searched the building to confirm the occupant was out, and found three small pets that did not survive.
The house was ventilated and overhauled to remove all residual smoke, heat and potential for rekindle.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
