Aaron PalmerSheridan County has been awarded a grant through the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security to establish a regional bomb-sniffing dog in the county.
County Administrative Director Renee Obermueller said the grant was applied for a number of months ago, and gave more details at Tuesday’s county commission meeting.
Obermueller said the grant will cover the nearly $126,000 in costs at 100% with no local match required.
Homeland Security has already approved the county ordering the vehicle and the dog for the program, so it should begin implementation this winter, according to Obermueller.
