U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), ranking member of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources (ENR), delivered remarks at a legislative hearing  Thursday to examine and receive testimony on a number of forestry related bills. Barrasso’s bill, the Promoting Effective Forest Management Act of 2022, was discussed at the hearing. Barrasso addressed the bipartisan legislation.

Barrasso said if the targets aren’t met, agencies must report to Congress any limitations or challenges that have hindered their progress, including litigation challenges and permitting delays.

More cattle grazing, more logging, fewer protections for old growth forests and wetlands and not a single mention of the role of global warming. Who sponsored the bill? Joe Manchin and John Barrasso, the two biggest hogs at the energy industry trough.

Some trolls need to climb back in their electric car and see if they can make it back to their place of origin. Maybe google maps has a feature to make sure you pick a route that is twice as long but prevents you from running out of juice. If you don’t think we need forest management-join a fire crew or try to build a house with current lumber prices.

I’ve actually gone a few rounds with a Polaski, and I also know that forest management is accomplished primarily by controlled burns and thinning (basically weeding the woods) neither of which make money for private industry and thus are not discussed in the Barroso bill. To give the bill it’s due it did provide more benefits for fire fighters.

I see the cult of the global climate hoax has chimed in. Our forests need timber management. Fires are natures way of cleaning things up if we don’t do it. But they can still happen, it’s just the way God made it. Anything to blame the republicans. They’re trying to politicize and blame hurricane Ian on climate change. Well, news flash! The climate has been changing since the flood of Noah. It brought on the ice age. A large volcanic eruption has a huge affect on the atmosphere. Let’s see you try to stop that!!!

A huge volcanic eruption would actually cool the planet down a little- do your homework.

Debbie, I find it interesting that you cherry pick scientific facts about climate change to prove your own singular political agenda. Do some real complete research, a logical not political Debbie, even you might come to the same conclusion that 90% of the world’s scientists reached over 15 years ago. Climate is REAL and basically human caused. Might want to learn the FACTS before it is too late for all homo sapiens.
