Wyoming needs a new person to be in charge of this coming November’s general election.

Secretary of State Ed Buchanan has officially resigned his position to start a new position as a district court judge in Torrington.

That means the Wyoming Republican Party along with Governor Mark Gordon must select a replacement to finish Buchanan’s term which expires at the end of this year.

The party has announced it will meet in Pavillion on Saturday, September 25th to select 3 finalists for the position.

Governor Gordon will then have 5 days to choose one of those 3.

Republican State Representative Chuck Gray won the Republican nomination for the position, and is running unopposed in November’s General Election, however under the Wyoming Constitution, he can not be appointed to fill the vacancy.
