The sixth annual Farm to Table & Hoedown Fundraiser for Rooted in Wyoming is scheduled for 4 -7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Born in a Barn.
The annual event includes live music, featuring The Craft Brothers, Wes Urbanik & the Mountain Folk, and Brooks Forsyth. An online and live auction, featuring large gift baskets, artworks, four rounds of golf at the Powder Horn and more. This event will include activities and games such as cornhole, dummy roping, pumpkin painting, bubbles, and an American Gothic photo booth for the whole family.
The main event is a garden-to-table meal with regionally sourced foods. While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, RiW Project and Outreach Coordinator Jodi Kenny told listeners a little about how the organization brings local farmers and ranchers together to feature local food during the event.
Children from Sheridan region schools will work with Chefs in the Culinary Collaborations. These collaborations pair students and the vegetables they grew in their school gardens with local Chefs that teach the children how to prepare a dish with the bounty of their hard work.
RiW board member Victoria Gray recently experienced one of these collaborations and shared the experience.
Thanks to the generosity of Pam and John Standish, sponsors and bidders have the opportunity to double the impact of their contribution this year. Donations will be matched dollar or dollar by the Standish family, up to $100,000. Matched offerings include sponsorships, ticket sales, as well as online and live auction proceeds.
Barn doors will open at 3:30 pm.
The online auction is currently open and will run through Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. The public can buy tickets, bid on auction items, and choose to donate to Rooted in Wyoming here.
