Voters in Montana’s Yellowstone County have decided that marijuana sales will continue, but not within the Billings City limits.

As part of a special vote during this past Tuesday’s state election primary, by a 58-to-42% margin, voters defeated the marijuana sales ban issue that was created by the Yellowstone County Commissioners.

In 2020, Montana voters approved a constitutional amendment to allow recreational sales and use of marijuana, however voters decided sales were not permitted in Billings.

Sales are permitted on the Crow Indian Reservation, as the tribal government oversees its own cultivation and sales.
