Annual Fishing Derby Happens In Spite of Foul Weather

The 38th annual Buffalo Lions Club Lake DeSmet Fishing derby happened this past Memorial Day Weekend, even though the weather didn’t cooperate for much of the three-day event.
Lions Club President Adam Teten spoke with Sheridan Media on Monday and said the weekend was a success, despite what he said was “typical derby weather.”
Although there was some question whether last year’s derby would be the last, Teten said the Buffalo Lions Club got some help from the Sheridan Lions Club, who stepped up to help put this year’s derby on.
He said the future for the event looks good, with the added help.
Participants in the derby could fish for for tagged fish for various amounts of cash, win daily prizes, and vie for the Grand Prize, a 2022 Polaris Sportsman 570 Trail ATV.
We will have the full list of winners from this past weekend’s Lake DeSmet Fishing Derby as they are released by the Lions Club.
